The first meeting of the working group on the questions of heat supply system development of Murmansk and Apatiti- Kirovsk area took place in Moscow. Decision of creating working group was taken in the result of negotiations between the Governor of the Murmansk Region Yuri Evdokimov and the head of RAO EAS Anatoly Chubais in February 2005. The parties reached the agreement to create two heat and power engineering holdings on the territory of the Kola Peninsula. Both Murmansk and Apatiti heating and power plant will become its members. . On the meeting the Murmansk Region was presented by the Head of Industry, Engineering and Housing and Municipal department of the Murmansk region Nikolay Bereznoy, Director of "TAKOS" Igor Saburov and Director of "Kolenergo" Alexander Aleko. Organizational issues of commission functioning were discussed with their colleagues from Moscow. By the 1st of July commission is to present technique-economical ground and business-plan of the holding creation project. The main goal of the holding creation isn’t lying in the economic sphere, first of all it must provide safe, efficient and operable heat supply system of Murmansk and the Murmansk Region.
According to Norwegian transport workers, in the near future tourist bus connections between Murmansk and Kirkenes can face serious problems. It is connected with the changes in Russian legislation: buses with the length more than 12 meters are not allowed to come to the territory of the Russian Federation. But at the same time tourist agencies of Kirkenes use buses, the length of which is approximately 12 meters 40 sm. According to the official information long buses are too heavy for Russian motorways.
On the 3rd of March the Festival of the North was officially opened. The program of the Festival is rich, as it has ever been. And the official opening of the Festival traditionally took place on the central square in Murmansk. Participants from many regions of our country came to take part in the 71st Festival of the North. Children and adults not only from Russia, but from different foreign countries as well, will try to win in 20 kinds of sport.
