The International Day of Civil Air Fleet was celebrated on the 7th of December in the world, as well as in Russia. And our Kola land can be proud with that as the aviation company in Murmansk is one of the leader of the small Russian aviation. The work of the pilots and specialists of the Murmansk Aviation Company depends on the weather conditions. The hardest period is spring and summer, and winter is a lull. But even during this period their work is very important especially for the settlements that are situated far from the regional centers or towns. And if there are also no railway or car roads, the population of these settlements is waiting for the flights with special feelings. The local authorities determine the frequency of such flights, and there is the lack of financial means in the local budgets. Nevertheless, quite often the pilots respond to the people’s needs. For the local population they are the only hope to get support and assistance.
The information about the rare plants of the Murmansk region is collected in one book. The specialists of the Kola Wild Nature Protection Center have been studying the flora of the Kola Land for four years. Their work resulted in an impressive book, devoted to their discoveries and research. All the plants, described in the book are rare, that’s why the authors called it "The Red Book". It contains information about more then 100 species of the plants, with separate article about each specie. The books will be distributed free of charge among libraries, schools and ecological organizations.
