In Oberhoff, Germany took place the forth relay of the World Biathlon Cup competition. Three sportsmen from Murmansk preformed there but only one, Sergey Rozkov, will be placed on a pedestal. Together with Pavel Rostovtsov, Nikolai Kruglov and Ivan Cherezov in the 4x7,5km relay-race, he took the third place. But in the personal competition Sergey managed to get only 3 points, having taken 28th place in sprint. In the general classification on the first place is Rafael Poirot from France, Sergey Rozkov takes the sixth place. Oberhoff has become the debut for young biathloner from Murmansk Uljana Denisova. She showed quite good results for the beginner: 45th result in sprint, and in the race – chasing – 40th result. In the personal competition the best result showed Anna Bogaliy from Murmansk. In sprint she took the forth place and in race-chasing was the fifth. In the general classification among women Ursula Diesel from Germany is the leader, Anna Bogaliy takes the 12th position. The fifth relay is to start today. The competitions will take place in Rupolding, Germany.
In the morning on the 11th of January at 10.36 Murmansk Regional hospital was on fire. The fire brigades got the alarm signal about the kindling of the roof of the therapeutic department. The situations of this kind automatically get the third difficulty rank. The hospital is especially important object. In a few minutes 8 auto-reservoirs arrived at the place. Later it turned out that the area that was on fire comprised about 70 meters. The firefighters needed 40 minutes to put out the fire. The causes of the kindling are not clear yet. The special brigade is working. The experts don’t except the possibility, that the builders, who work in the building might have caused the fire.
In December 2004 the Center of Political Technologies carried out the research, devoted to the evaluation of the Russian regional leaders’ influence and their perspectives to reserve their positions when the governors are to be appointed by the president. According to the experts, Yuri Evdokimov got the 35th positions out of 87. That’s how the director of Barents – Center Oleg Andreev commented on the situation: "I can give only positive evaluation to the idea of appointing the governors. There are two models of governors’ functioning in the world: the elections of the governors, like in the USA, and their appointment, like in many European countries. Vladimir Putin decided to use European experience, and here we can’t say, that the democracy is being under attack. Elections in Russia, unfortunately has turned into farce, the fight between "money sacks", where the conqueror is the one who managed to capture television, radio, and the press. According to the material of the research, Yuri Evdokimov has every prospect of success, and taking into consideration everything, said above, one can be well disposed to it.
