Norwegian authorities withdrew the arrest from he Murmansk fishing ship "Andromeda", that had a breakdown last year in November and now is being under repair in the shipyard Kimek in Norway. The withdrawal of the arrest means that the ship will be able to put out to sea when the repair works are finished. Last year in November moving from one catch area to another, the ship collided with the Norwegian trawler "Sundere" near Spitsbergen. "Andromeda" that got bad damage was arrested on the initiative of the company that owns Norwegian trawler. The company accused the Russian captain of creating the emergency situation. It is not clear yet, what the climax will be. The hearings are delayed till the end of the New Year and Christmas holidays.
Today in Murmansk on Vorovsky street the arrangement of the site for holding the 5th International festival of ice and snow sculpture "Northern Fantasy" is to be started. According to the municipal department of culture, they had to cancel the competition "Snow sculpture" due to the lack of snow. In the result out of 10 teams, who applied for the participation, 6 teams will take part in the competition "Ice sculpture". Today the specialists will make the marking for 11 sculptures.
One of the citizens of the Murmansk region tried to bring to Finland signal and traumatic cartridges. The illegal goods were discovered by the customs officers in the tourist’s car during the customs inspection in Lotta. The administrative investigation is being held. And in the seaport on board the foreign tanker that had come to Murmansk under the flag of Gibraltar the customs officers from the anti-drug department confiscated a few dozens of virulent preparation that hadn’t been entered into the declaration. The experts are to carry out the examination of the preparation, after that the decision, concerning punishment measures will be taken.
