"Place in the sun" is the name of the exposition, opened in Museum of Regional Studies. It was prepared by 5 young photo-artists from Norway. They spent their youth in Northern Norway, and their exposition is devoted to this part of their native country. The young artists think, that this exhibition is commentary to myths and cliche about Northern Norway that exist in the world. On the photos one can see bright picture of this "land of unsetting sun". Everything is reflected on these pictures: local hospitality, peculiarities of national cuisine, and light-heartedness of life against severe nature. This is the discussion about present and future of this land, that is so close to our territory. The museum workers decided to celebrate 20th of January in an unusual way – to put on medieval costumes. Museum workers can’t say for sure how many people have visited museum for 15 years. For instance, we can say, that just last year the museum received 40.500. But the typical visitor, is a man, of about 40 years of age, who is usually state employee. The museum plan is firmly scheduled. All exhibitions are known. As art-critics promise, this year we will be able to see much interesting.
