The exhibition, presenting the works of the pupils from art school in Kirovsk was opened the other day in the Art gallery in Nwery. This exhibition has become one of the stages in the Russian-Irish project "Show this world to children". The aim of the project is quite fully expressed in its name. The exhibition was opened by the Mayor of the city Henry Rilly, and among those who had been invited to this event and to the lunch were professional artists, representatives of business and culture. The Irish are delighted by the high level of children’s works. The exhibition will last till the end of January. At the same time in the city press of Newry appear articles, devoted to Kirovsk and Chibiny Mountains, and in the children’s library in Kirovsk there is the literature exposition "Emerald Country". That is why the schoolchildren, taking part in the project, by the time they will have met each other in the beginning of March (in Ireland) will possess much information about each other.

On the 18th of January within the framework of the planned meeting the Governor of the Murmansk region Yuri Evdokimov held the meeting with the Minister of foreign Affairs from Norway Jan Peterson. After the negotiations the Governor announced that the meeting was quite productive and that he was glad that such high-ranking person "was ready for the concrete conversation". On the meeting of the Governor and the Minister the following issues were discussed: the building of the terminal in Zapolyarny, cooperation in the sphere of radioactive and nuclear security and exploitation of water bio-resources. Norway blames Russia for the "over-catch" of fish. According to Yuri Evdokimov, in the near future this problem will be discussed in Moscow. The Governor noticed that "this meeting had laid the brick to the foundation of the common business before negotiations in Moscow." Norwegian journalists asked the Governor to name the problems in Russian-Norwegian relations. The Governor mentioned here the problems of fish catching and the problem of the disputable gray zone in the Barents sea. But the question with the disputable zone is close to its solving. Yuri Evdokimov expressed his hope to solve this issue on the basis of mutually advantageous understanding.
