On the 31st of January in the administration of Murmansk Mayor Mihail Savchenko received Norwegian delegation of the organization "Save children". The delegation consisted of general secretary Gru Bracken, coordinator on Eastern Europe Bien Lindgren, informational adviser Christin Rud, director of Murmansk program Bierk Besteland and other members of this benevolent organization. According to press-service of administration, Deputy Mayors Lidia Gudina and Alexander Dubrovsky, chairwoman of the municipal youth committee Alena Martinova took part in the meeting. In the meeting were discussed such problems like prevention of children’s homelessness and juvenile delinquency, organizing further cooperation of Murmansk administration and Norwegian organization. In the program of this visit are such items like – participation in the opening ceremony of the Center of prevention of children’s homelessness, where the Service of mobile street work with children and youth will be housed. Specifically, with the help of means, given by the Norwegian side, the Service of mobile street work with children and youth bought bus, and several telephones. And the administration, in its turn, allocated new house. The special attention in the dialogue of the sides was paid to development programs in Murmansk, which are connected with prevention of drug abuse, of HIV, of sexual violence among teenagers. The program of mobile street work is to be finished on 2005, but Norwegian side expressed its hope, that the municipal authorities would offer other efficient projects for further cooperation.
