In the Murmansk State Technical University today took place the presentation of the book "Russian Barents region today". Its authors – Norwegian experts – presented three variants of the region’s development: " The big oil site", "The reserve of the Russian Bear" and "European Periphery". This book is the completion of scrip analysis of the development of the Murmansk and Archangelsk regions, Komi and Karelian Republics, Nenez autonomous region. The analysis has been carried out by Econ Analysis company, Fridtoff Nansen Institute, Norwegian Institute of International relations, legal company Wikborg Rein, under supervision and initiative of Econ Analysis. The book was published in 2004 by publishing house Eburon Deft. In the presentation participated Murmansk scientists and public figures. According to Professor Dmitry Nalivkin, the book needs detail analysis and undoubtedly raises interest for all Russian experts.
It’s the first time when musical, from the very beginning till the end created in Murmansk, is being prepared. The project organizers haven’t given all the secrets away yet, that’s why it is just known, that it is going to be absolutely new work of our fellow-townsmen Vasily Ryabkov, Eugene Goman and Alexander Anisimov. The musical is based on truth historic events, that happened in Murmansk in 1942. The parts in musical will be performed not only in Russian, but also in other languages. It is planned that in the musical there will be 3 main female parts and 6 main male parts. Casting will take place in the Children’s Theatrical Center on the 7th and 9th February. All young people, aged 17 or 25, who possess good vocal qualities can participate in it.
